A blog for creative and non-fiction projects: from pop-culture analysis, literary and historical discussion, and whatever I have recently had strong feeling on.

Miriam Cruz is a Lisbon-born writer and chronic doodler. However, she is willing to shift career paths and become a shepherdess in the mountains in case the world continues to spiral into the garbage, as it is wont to do.

In 2023 she concluded her BA with Honours in English Literature and Creative Writing in NU London. In the Fall of 2024 she will continue her studies with a Masters in English Studies at Cambridge University.

In 2017 she won an international Youth Literary Prize (Prémio Ferreira Castro) for her short story “The Price of Money.”

Her Short Crime story “The Butcher’s Girl” was published by The Yard in 2024. Her lyrical essay “Halls so Softly Worn” is soon to be published by Voices de La Luna, in the US.

Miriam has experience with translation (portugueses x english), editing, grant writing, copy writing, and commissioned writing.
